This is a black and white photograph of Jessie Davis with a terrier-type dog. She is sitting, with her legs to the left side, on a dock with her proper left hand on the dog's back. She is wearing a cloche-type hat, a baggy white blouse with front buttons and sleeves rolled up above her elbows, greyish pants and two-tone, lace-up oxford-like shoes. There is a small motor boat tied to the far side of the dock. The opposite treed shoreline is in the far background.

History
Jesse Davis was the daughter of Peter Davis and Elizabeth Dowsley.

R. Davis & Sons was a dry good and household store that was located in Brockville Ontario on the North side of King Street. The store was established in 1876 and was run by Ralph Davis and his sons William H. Davis and Peter Davis. The store closed around 1915.

The Peter Davis family lived for many years at 49 Pearl St. W.
